Description: This presentation will provide an overview of the critical role nutrition plays in the management and treatment of pediatric patients with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). After reviewing the key macro- and micronutrients most strongly associated with improved outcomes in CHD, we will explore common factors that place these patients at risk for poor nutritional status. The presentation will highlight frequent barriers, complications, and limitations to achieving optimal nutrition, and will conclude with case studies designed to reinforce learning, encourage discussion, and provide opportunities for practical application
